I have been patiently waiting for Elias' book from the first click of the emotional support lighter in The Orchid series. I was not prepared for the reveal of the tension between Lana and him though and this was so much more than an enemies to lovers/marriage of convenience story! Elias has a truly devastating past and has become solely focussed on revenge; up until now everything was a means to an end however Lana suddenly becomes integral to his plan and he has to decide what he is more obsessed with, Lana or vengeance.
Go in blind as the reveals are so worth it! There is a lot of worldbuilding between the Association and the Syndicate and although there is a lot to take in, I'm glad some mystery has remained to carry on into the next book and it wasn't all tied up with a bow. I am intrigued by the other Syndicate characters too; Ren's book is next but I have my eye on Sofia who I think is going to break my heart. I would have loved more of her and Elias together though as the Anderson's familial relationships are such an important part of the storyline that it would have been a nice comparison.
My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
