Great send off to the series

Book: Blissful Devotion by Sara Hinds

This could be split down the middle for me; the first half deals with the aftermath of Kat's accident and kidnapping, and the second is more like an extended epilogue. The issues caused by the kidnapping aren't solved overnight either and each of the MMCs works hard to support Kat on her journey back to them. With this many characters though I liked that everyone got their moment to reconnect and that it didn't feel rushed, particularly with Vince and Oli who had hadn't quite made that leap yet with Kat. It does make for some very sweet moments but the spice is still there in the latter half and the actual epilogue is a perfect send off!

The kidnapping plot was good; the villain is really sinister but my only nitpick was there was no on page confrontation between him and one of the Lawsons which surprised me given the nature of their relationship. It really felt like some closure was needed there and as this Lawson was already spiralling the hardest, I was rooting for him. It was a little vague for me too as to what actually happened and I kept thinking the villain was going to pop back up at some point (but that's because I am always suspicious when anything important happens off page!) I loved our favourite mercenaries making an appearance though - seeing them through the Lawson's eyes was quiet funny. Particularly when they were trying to figure out who was who and what the dynamics were.

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
