This book had me incredibly excited from the minute I saw it on Netgalley. When I discovered I had been accepted to advance rwad a copy, I was ecstatic.
Theodora's Tea Shop is unlike anything I have read of late. From the world building, the paranormal, the magic, amd the chronic illness representation, this book has a lot going on, but at no point did it feel too much.
This is a fast-paced book which rarely loses its momentum. It did slow down very slightly around the mid-point mark, but honestly, given the volume of information to take in up to that point, I felt this small respite was cleverly placed.
The characters are uniquely fleshed out and it is very apparent that Christy Anne Jones spent a great deal of time getting to know them before sharing them with the world.
I did find myself confused on why this book was being described as cosy. This was not my takeaway. There is too much happening and too many dark elements for cosy to be an adjective I would use. It might loosely be used to describe elements of the found family aspect.
This was a great read and a strong 4⭐️'s.
