I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Moon, the heir of the Moon Empire, is struggling under the weight of his family's expectations. Despite being gay, he opposes it because of family pressure. Cillian, a dangerous Irish Mob heir, is known for his rebellious nature. While traveling over the summer, Moon and Cillian crossed paths. There was an instant attraction between them. After spending the night together, they shared a kiss. Moon ditches Cillian 'cause he couldn’t go against his family's beliefs. They end up meeting again at an academy for the elite. Moon attempted to distance himself from Cillian, while Cillian actively pursued Moon. They must battle both their friends and their obligations. This book took me by surprise. The story of Moon and Cillian really grabbed me. This was a fantastic dark romance. Moon's story really hit me. His family's expectations really took a toll on him, leading to heartbreaking anxiety and depression. Cillian, though dark and intense, was perfect for Moon. It was great how he encouraged Moon to have confidence and to release his inhibitions. It was wonderful to see Cillian's family supporting Moon. I really enjoyed reading this. This book has a mix of funny, sad, and dark in there.
My favorite character was Cillian. He was head over heels for Moon. His devotion to him was so strong, he'd destroy the world. He was funny and intense.
This school featured a larger cast of characters and more extensive information. I'm excited about reading the other books. Fans of dark romance will particularly enjoy this.
