Auren’s feminine rage era has officially arrived, and I was living for it. Watching her finally stand her ground, see Midas for what he really is, and choose herself was so satisfying. But when he drugged her and cut off her ribbons, I was furious. Those ribbons felt like such a powerful, magical extension of who she was, and I still get chills thinking about it.
This book gave us everything: character growth, high-stakes tension, a slow-burn romance with Slade that finally delivers, and an ending that had me cheering when Auren turned Midas into gold. Poetic justice at its finest.
I love how Raven Kennedy isn’t afraid to make the story messy. It’s full of trauma, rage, healing, and the slow, deliberate act of reclaiming your power.
Now I’m desperate to see what happens in the Fourth Kingdom.
