Book: Heart of the Siren by Alice Hanov

This book was my first foray into either sirens or selkies. While I learned a lot about the former, I didn’t learn anything about the latter (but I think it’s coming in book 2).
I’d say this book was plot-lite. It centers around the rescue of a royal.
The FMC has an interesting past that unfolds overt the course of the book.
For me, the emotion didn’t hit in this book. I was told about but didn’t feel Elva’s trauma or how it shaped her behavior or her engagement with Njall.
Although the book is full of spice, it too left me wanting.
All of this to say, I think people should give it a try! It's a quick, easy, and interesting read. A good palatte cleanser!
