Emma Rockford has grown up knowing about the "lore of four". On the right day, she, along with her two besties, sneak away from a field trip and make their four wishes. Four months later, her besties wake up with their wishes come true...and Emma doesn't. Then she notices Jackson, who was there on the fateful day, appears to have gotten HER wishes! This was a really cute upper middle grade read, perfect for middle school readers. Lynn Painter does a great job transitioning into writing for a younger audience, and I hope it won't be her last.
