Book: How to Tackle a Crush by Dani Elias

I read this book in one day. I got sucked in and couldn't put it down.
Ava gets roped into covering a press conference against her will (and her anxiety). The subject of the conference, Jack is intrigued by the quiet woman in the back who seems to actually listen. Since she runs off after the conference before he can get her number, Jack comes up with a plan to get to know her better by giving her an exclusive interview with himself for her paper. (Which is actually quite clever.)
The two have chemistry at first eye contact, and it only increases with each moment they spend together. Things move pretty quickly for Jack and Ava, but it doesn't feel rushed, it feels more like how romance should be. You find the person that fits you like a puzzle piece, and they just fit seamlessly into your life from then on, without even trying. It feels like releasing a breath.
My favorite part of this book is easily Alfie. Jack's son, and reason for his new job and move to Carlisle, Alfie is 5 and obsessed with dinosaurs and all things science. He is surprisingly serious for a 5-year-old in adorable ways. And once he meets Ava, he is just as smitten as Jack is.
Elias' books are romantic in the way real life is. Full of small moments and quiet glances that mean the world, and can sustain a love for a lifetime. How to Tackle a Crush is no different. There is also a lot of fun banter, some spicy moments, and the beginnings to a beautiful family. A new favorite of mine for sure.
