Bryn Ruelle is the first-born child of her family line and that means she has the unfortunate luck of being the one of her siblings to take up arms. As a Firstborn solider she is top of her class going into the final challenge she has to face before she graduates her military academy but a plot to kidnap the lastborn children sends her off on a whole new course away from military service, away from the world she knows, and away from her sense of self.
Brilliant lore, fantastic writing, and characters that made me care about them from the jump, this story has me itching to find out what happens to the Midborn and the Lastborn because holy COW this was incredible.
