This is part of a series, yet I have not read the other one. I had no problem following even though I had not read the previous. It was a great story, there were some slow spots but overall a compelling read.

It starts with Mael Griffin and Sasha Cadell, the Alpha and Luna of Phoenix pack, inspecting the destruction of the Dragon's Den. There was a Time stone in a vault that Kai Griffin, Mael's father, had placed there and in a secret area he had a dragon shifter imprisoned as well. The destruction was a cover for Zyren, the dragon shifter, to get free and steal the stone.

When they climb back out of the Dragon's Den they notice temporal rifts, they decided to call for help. They reach out to Drake Blackwood and Lila Ravensong, the Alpha and Luna of Shadow Lake pack. Right before the call Drake and Lila wake from a shared dream/vision of dragons, fighting and bodies of every race on a battlefield. Sasha mentions the stone can be used to unlock time, which leads them to believe that Zyren wants to rewrite time to save Kai, Mael's father who had been corrupted my the Jerga.

And there the journey begins, they must go back in time to make sure Zyren doesn't succeed. They go back meet ancestors, learn truths about certain things that have been warped or erased by time and the Obsidian Order...

There is some spice, some action, some slow spots and some sad parts. It is overall a great book, would and do recommend.
