🩸🌿 Fang & Fury — Jayne Castel
Song of Savage Hearts Duology, Book 2
Celtic Magic, Savage Battles, and a Slow Burn That Becomes an INFERNO! 🔥 Oh my goodness, this duology was SO GOOD!
As a Scottish lass who absolutely LOVES Celtic folklore and Druid magic, Jayne Castel had me hooked from the very beginning. And dare I say it? I think this second book was even better than the first! Fang & Fury picks up immediately where Blood & Claw leaves off, and trust me, you'll want to read these books in order. I'm going to keep this review intentionally vague because there are some discoveries that deserve to be experienced without spoilers.
Ailsa now knows what she is, but understanding the full extent of her abilities is another matter entirely. As she continues discovering her powers, she and her mentor work to help Darach with the dangerous beast magic that has haunted him. And that's about all I'm saying about the plot! 🤐 What I WILL talk about is the incredible combination of Celtic mythology, ancient Druid magic, paranormal romance, and action that makes this duology so much fun. The romance is a slow burn , but once that fire catches? GOOD LORD, IT'S AN INFERNO! 🔥🔥🔥
And the battle scenes?! Some of the BEST I've read in a romance novel! Seriously, the intensity, action, and magical elements had me completely engrossed. Castel knows how to build tension, and she absolutely delivers when everything comes to a head.
I loved watching Ailsa continue to grow into her powers, and I was thoroughly invested in how her story with Darach would conclude. But perhaps the biggest compliment I can give this duology is what happened after I finished it. I immediately went looking for MORE Jayne Castel!

And imagine my excitement when I discovered that although Ailsa and Darach's story has concluded, Fern (one of my favorite side characters) is getting her own story next year! YES, PLEASE! 🙌 Jayne Castel has officially gone from a new-to-me author to one of my newest author obsessions.
My verdict: A fantastic conclusion to a duology filled with Celtic folklore, Druid magic, fierce battles, and a slow-burn romance that delivers one heck of a payoff.
If you love Scottish folklore, vampires, ancient magic, and action-packed paranormal romance, put this duology on your TBR!
And read BOTH books. You won't regret it! 🩸🌿🖤
