Huge thank you to Second Sky for the advance copy of this book. All opinions are my own and freely given.

I absolutely adored the Legends of the Shadow series and I can honestly say that I’m sad to see it come to a close. Cetrick is our narrator and main character, and despite knowing he lives to tell the tale, it makes his journey no less harrowing. I found myself reading this slower and slower as I got towards the end because I wasn’t ready yet to say goodbye. And also because the incredible narrator for this series (David Thorpe) gave Locan a French accent that is 100% true to his nature. The problem is, I do not have a French accent. That did not stop my brain from trying to read his lines with one. It was a whole to-do, and again, credit to Thorpe for embodying Locan so thoroughly that his accent is now canon even in my inner voice.

I’d give you an idea of the plot, but everything I could tell you would be spoilers. So I will say this, if you’re craving a fantasy adventure that has everything from dragons to orcs to wizards and an assassin that’s just as deadly with his verbal barbs as he is with his knives, this is the series you should be reading.

Five wine glasses for this book, this series, and for Locan A’Shadow, because he will drink every single darn one of them if you let him. (And even if you don’t.)

The Assassin’s Throne hits shelves on October 26. Don’t miss out on this incredible, completed series.
