Love, Murder, & Other Fall Traditions was such a nice surprise for me. Mystery is not usually one of my favorite genres but give me fall vibes, a bookstore and a small-town romance, and I’m there. I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy this combination as much as I did.

Harvest Falls has the kind of fall setting I love, with its festival, traditions and cozy feel. But the town has spent years turning an old tragedy into entertainment. When Emery comes back after losing her grandmother, she finds things that make her question what everyone believes happened.

I liked that the mystery was connected to the town’s history and the people who have spent years accepting things without asking enough questions. As Emery tries to figure out what is true and who she can trust, the story takes on a darker side. Still, the romance and fall atmosphere kept it from feeling too heavy for me.

This had secrets, danger, grief, romance, and all the fall vibes I wanted. I went in for the romance and was happily surprised by how much I enjoyed the mystery too. Definitely a 5-star read for me.
