I had a really fun time with this one! An interesting Tarot-based magic system. A Dystopian-feeling world. Dark Academia-ish. With some fun forced proximity/roommate/fake relationship stuff.
I was pulled in immediately by the premise and writing. I felt fully immersed in the setting, and enjoyed getting to know the characters.
The romance was fun with all the banter back and forth, and lots of meaningful looks . I also really enjoyed their more tender moments as they got to know one another.
Things were starting to feel a little too comfortable as we were nearing the end, so I had a feeling we were headed for something , and boy was I right! 😳 Definitely plan to continue on with the next one.
Audiobook notes: DUET NARRATION! Raquel Beattie and Gregory Salinas were both so good! The story is told in Single POV, but it was great getting to have different voices for all the various characters.
