I really liked the worldbuilding and plot idea of the book.
What I loved most was that Gods and Goddesses walked among magical humans, but they were evil, and they controlled everything in the Kingdom. Especially who lives and who dies.
We follow Shadow, Shay, an orphan with NO magic who can see her ghostly sister. She has silver blood instead of gold like everyone else, and a unique insignia on her forearm: a Raven. Something the Queen herself is looking for, so Shay's been hiding her mark and blood color her whole life.
But honestly? It was a bit hard to believe that nobody noticed Shay's blood color while they were running and fighting for their lives. Some parts didn't feel as believable as I would've liked.
And why would the Gods wait until only 7 days remained to find love? At one point I really thought the Curse was fake.
Overall, I loved the idea and the characters were really interesting. I just wish we got more about the magic, the different realms, and their backstories... especially why the Goddess of Love hated humans that much.
