The Secrets of Everlight by Julie Hall was everything I want in a romantasy: secrets, court intrigue, hidden identities, slow-burn tension, danger hiding behind pretty gowns, and a heroine I could not stop rooting for.
Rowan completely pulled me in. She’s a thief, a survivor, and someone who has had to fight for every scrap of freedom she can get. Watching her step into this world of royals, silks, lies, and deadly secrets had me hooked from the beginning.
I loved the fake-princess setup, the assassination plot, the fae court tension, and the way Rowan has to balance survival with feelings she absolutely does not have time for. Prince Dryden brings that forbidden attraction and slow-burn pull that makes every glance feel dangerous.
This book gave me political intrigue, romance, mystery, and that “just one more chapter” feeling until I was completely gone. Julie Hall built a world that feels magical, sharp, and full of secrets waiting to bite.
Five stars all the way. I loved this book and cannot wait for more from this world.
