The Werewolf’s Wrong Mate was such a fun, spicy, and exciting paranormal romance. It gave me werewolves, an accidental mate bond, forced proximity, family drama, mystery, danger, and one tiny dog who nearly started a supernatural war. 😂
Cassie travels to a beautiful resort for what may be the most uncomfortable wedding ever, her younger sister is marrying her ex. But when her sister’s dog, Henry, escapes into a restricted area, Cassie follows him and accidentally interrupts a mysterious ceremony. One wrong turn changes her entire life and connects her to Ian, a dangerous and emotionally guarded werewolf.
I loved Cassie’s sarcasm and how she refused to let anyone make decisions for her, even when she was surrounded by an entire pack of intimidating werewolves. But Ian was definitely one of my favorite parts of this story. He was dangerous, protective, and possessive, but he was also incredibly respectful of Cassie. He constantly asked for permission before touching her, listened when she set a boundary, and never assumed that being his mate meant she belonged to him. Honestly, everyone needs an Ian in their lives!
I also loved that the story didn’t ignore the difficult way their bond began. Cassie was still angry and scared, and Ian never expected her to forgive him simply because his wolf had chosen her. Their relationship slowly became less about the supernatural bond and more about whether they could freely choose each other.
The mystery surrounding the mate bond kept me interested, and the final chapters were intense, emotional, and full of action. I also loved Sava and Cormac, but Aunt Linda was definitely one of my favorites. She was hilarious, completely unfiltered, and exactly the kind of family member you want beside you during a supernatural disaster. And of course, tiny Henry stole every scene he was in. That little dog caused absolute chaos, and I loved him for it.
This book had humor, suspense, family drama, pack politics, plenty of chemistry and spice, and a romance built around respect and choice. Ian and Cassie were perfect for each other, even if she was technically the “wrong” mate.Definitely another five star read for me!
