Emotional, thought-provoking, and gripping story

Book: National by Christopher Lai

National is an emotional, thought-provoking, and gripping story. Being an American and having just graduated from high school the year before the apartheid ended, my memory of it is not as clear as someone my age who lived it, so this story served as a reminder to me of just a small fraction of what went on during that time period. In his descriptions, Mr. Lai is able to help the reader see and feel what his characters were going through and feeling. And I loved the romance between Patrick and Chanelle, especially at the very end of the book! At 178 pages, it is a short book, but you don’t feel that you’re missing anything because of it.
National: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
