My Thoughts:
Man this one was heavy. Collins is dealing with the loss of her husband. His best friend Ansel is dealing with his loss as well. They come together in such a beautiful way, but as expected there are some bumps along the path.
"Do I do this? Do I take this opportunity to get out of my own way? The idea that I can ever feel differently than I do right now seems absurd, but also really nice."
There were so many emotions. There is MAJOR plot twist that completely changed the way I looked at the entire situation (no spoilers). I could NOT stop listening from the moment I started. Reading the words along the narration was magical.
"I knew. And it's confirmed, only it's so much worse than I thought."
I will always love Piper Rayne books, they were my first entry into contemporary romance. I love the way there are always sneak references to other series or characters in their universe (Baileys anyone??). This read was just beautiful. 6 stars, no doubt in my mind.
