After finishing this a few days ago, I'm STILL THINKING ABOUT IT. Bumped my review up a half a star as a result
I’ve been in my dystopian era lately, and Storm Breaker checked all the boxes: creepy government, dangerous outsiders, and mysterious powers? Yes pleaseeeee. (Anyone else get freaked out hearing about the Warming Age?? 😳)
At its core, this is a coming-of-age story, and Poet felt like a very realistic FMC. Her choices sometimes confused me, but her timidity and uncertainty made complete sense given her upbringing. Watching her slowly come out of her shell and find her own path was really rewarding.
And Rook? Exactly my favorite type of MMC. The scene where he first told Knox off had me kicking my feet 🤭 And that cliffhanger?? That was cruel, Nisha!!
Overall, I’d definitely recommend it and can’t wait for book 2!
