Devour is the first book in The Ravens series. It centers around Axl and Saylor. Axl is a member of a secret society known as a Talon. Saylor's family is part of this secret group. Axl has developed a strong obsession with Saylor and can't get her out of his mind. As the story unfolds, we witness their relationship being both toxic and chaotic, yet there is love present throughout.
I did not expect this book to surprise me as much as it did. Initially, the story seemed to move slowly, yet I'm glad I stuck with it since it ended up being quite good. Axl was truly a tough and straightforward character who didn't hold back. His love/obsession for Saylor was so intense. At first, Saylor pretended she wasn't obsessed with Axl, but as the book progressed, her feelings became more apparent. I felt sorry for Saylor and what she went through. I'm happy she ends up with her King.
This story is a romance filled with dark and spicy elements throughout. If you enjoy books that are both dark and spicy, then this one is definitely for you.
