Lexie is a sheltered woman that is looking for her family. She may have some good self defense training but she's a quite naive and easily fooled. She's a likable character looking for acceptance.
Slade is a grieving soldier that 'accidentally' shot her. While she recovers, she's forced to live in his town and be near him. While battling his obligations and guilt, he becomes obsessed with her. He can a cutie pie or a mean asshole with her.
I may be a fool and missing something sinister coming.
What stopped me from giving 4⭐️ was some problems with the pace of the story. Some scenes so detailed and some were inexistant. I often felt a bit lost because of it. I can't decide if the author is hinting at some manipulation or if my comprehension is not perfect (I'm not an english speaker and could miss some context).
