So apparently... I got the wrong file, so some mistakes left in the text had me cackling so badly...
Then you have the dark humour... I have a very dark sense of humour, so one particular sentence after the FMC stabs someone in the eye... “Keep an eye out” for the guy whose eye is gone? I laughed. It’s dark, it’s fucked up, I know.
Aaaaanyway. I enjoyed the story; I wanted to know what would happen to Sawyer and Isabel, how they would get their revenge, what would happen when they catch the one they wanted dead.
Watching them evolve and devolve was interesting; however, I didn’t like it as much as Jess Cody’s usual work. I’m not sure why exactly.
The book had me on the edge of my seat nonetheless; there is a deep, twisted satisfaction at the end, but I feel like the romance was maybe a bit ... incomplete? Maybe it was how fast they went from hate to love.
This book is perfect for those who want two morally dark grey characters, unhinged behaviour, and real dark romance.
