I love dark romance and this book had many of the things I normally enjoy in M/M stories. However, the amount of abuse and nonconsensual content was a little too much for my personal taste.
Justin is a sheltered college student who is kidnapped and given to Cameron, a dangerous tattoo artist who wants complete ownership of him. Their relationship is dark, intense and very complicated. Cameron is completely morally black and there were definitely moments when I wanted to rescue poor Justin myself.
The criminal storyline involving a corrupt detective and the underground club Indulgence added suspense and kept me entertained. This book contains very dark and graphic material, so I highly recommend checking the content warnings before reading.
It can be read as a standalone, but reading His Doll first gives more context about Mikhail, Grace and how Justin ends up with Cameron
