I have been patiently waiting for Autumn's story since she first appeared in the Knotty Holiday Nights anthology. The story has been reworked and although we lost the holiday element (although I loved the nod to that theme with Tripp's chat in the basement!) we gained the rodeo which was a lot of fun. I have never been to a rodeo and liked all the technical elements being explained; I have absolutely no frame of reference for any of it and was able to follow along.
I loved seeing Autumn's possessive side (even if she was in denial for a while) and she was definitely no shrinking violet. Briggs was probably my favourite of the MMCs and I really felt for him when he tried to give Autumn space to decided if Montana was for her . I did have a soft spot for Clint and his feathery t-rexs though.
I liked seeing Gidget and her guys again (they appear in Unhinged) and I was surprised at the stalker plotline as I thought the reason for Autumn being sent away would ultimately be the plot. I wanted more on what Hunter was up to though; he cared enough about his sister to go to extreme lengths to protect her, but then dropped off the face of the earth. It just felt a little off particularly when he knew about the suppressants and Autumn was frantically trying to get hold of him. I'm hoping this means he has his own story to tell.
