Newly divorced Meg, starts life again in the small Scottish town of Banhaven. Buying an empty shop in need of a lot of tlc, she sets about opening a quaint teashop. It sounds idyllic, right? It would be, if she has a single clue about running one, let alone, owning one.
What follows is a cosy journey of self-discovery, romance, baking and a magical witchy awakening.
I really enjoyed the cosy element of this read and it absolutely fed into my dread of a tea and book shop. It was also heart-warming to witness Meg's journey of discovery, identity, and independence.
Unfortunately, I felt there was too much focus on Meg's battle with her inner demons, in the form of her doubt in her ability to do even the smallest thing. I understand that branching out alone is scary, but the heavy focus on this particular element, meant the development of the romance felt far too rushed and we missed out on a lot of Meg establishing herself in the small, close-knit community
