Fatal Scheme is book one in The Temptress of Death Duet by Taylor James.
I love Mafia Romances and this book has easily become one of the higher rated books of this genre. The book was written perfectly and had all that aspects I want when I read a Mafia Romance. I wouldn’t change a thing. That cliffhanger tho….(I’ll need until the next book to recover) I about screamed, cried, threw my kindle, and raged. I need the next book immediately! This book is so exceptionally good! I binged the entire book in one day and if I could re-read again for the first time I would. This is my first time to read a book by Taylor James, and I can say without a doubt that I will be delving into the other books that she has wrote.
The books pace was fast and steady. I was consistently reading, hoping that the next chapter would be the one when she divulged her secret to the boys. I loved that each of the boys had their own unique they were with Carter. Jasper is a hard well trained mafia assassin. Tyson is a calculating behind the scenes planner. They both appeared hard to the outside world and soft for only her. One of my utmost favorite parts of the book (besides the 🔥) was the nicknames that Jasper gave to Carter, they were just so cute. These boys worshiped Carter and it was painful to keep reading knowing that she would eventually have to tell them the reason why she really moved to Emory.
I really enjoyed this book. I was borderline obsessed with it. Thank you to Taylor James for the opportunity to read this well written Mafia Romance. I truly enjoyed it.
