Thank you to Gay Book Promotions for the ARC — this review is my honest opinion.
Closely Guarded is a YA romance story. It introduces us to Hex and Jayce. Hex attends a boarding school, and Jayce has just become the new security guard there. The connection between Hex and Jayce develops gradually. Their witty exchanges were great, and by the end, they truly cared for each other. Hex's past was tragic, and I'm happy he found a family with Jayce.
This book totally caught me off guard in a good way. It was a bit slow at the beginning, so I wasn’t sure, but then it picked up and got so interesting.. It turned out differently than I expected. I really enjoyed reading this.
I was surprised by the twist in the last part of the book. I found this to be an excellent read.
