Choked in love, had me in an absolute chokehold!! This is a dark romance so please be sure to check your trigger and content warnings first.
As soon as I started this book, it was a struggle and then some, to be able to put it back down again! And I can hand on heart tell you, if it weren't for lo g standing family commitments, it would have stayed in my hand until I'd finished it.
This book would not be out place sharing shelf space with the greats of dark romance, such as HD Carlton, Leigh Rivers, and Liv Zander. In fact, they best get real cosy and make room.
The MMC, Flynn, is a cinvicted serial killer, serving his time at the psychiatric prison. He escapes and finds his way into the bedroom of the FMC, Hazel. Smoking hot, body of a god, sociopathic serial killer, meet gorgeous, quirky, do-gooder, 911 dispatcher. Where will this take us?
Well, as it turns out we will be led through a VERY morally grey, twisty-turny journey, filled with vengeance, violence, possessiveness that is filled to the max with the best banter and the cringiest jokes, and burning up with spice so hot it will set a city ablaze!
Alexis' writing is a lesson in pacing perfection. Her dialogue feels natural, is witty, and thigh-clenchingly HOT! Her characters are well-developed, believable, diverse, unhinged, and complex.
Choked in Love absolutely needs to be developed into an audio book, for as much as the book is a feast for the eyeballs, it would be criminal not to have this play out in the ears, and there can be ONLY ONE narrator for the role of Flynn... Joe Arden!!
As soon as I finished this book, I wanted to immediately pick it up and start it again. It really is THAT GOOD!!
If you enjoyed books such as Little Stranger and Insatiable, you will be doing yourself a disservice if you do not read Choked in Love.
