Character driven goodness

Book: Unclean by Keller Hayden

This book is highly underrated. The world building and magic building is so simple that there really is no building. It just is. It just exists. Simple.
There is so much more to this book that meets the eye. The way that people who are “different“ are treated is very much a reflection of real life.
I love the characters. This is a very character driven book and I am here for it. I love the relationship between mother and son. And the way it includes Ria‘s best friend. Throughout this story, the family continues to grow.
There are some flaws to the “plan” that the group has in regards to “fixing” things. But it doesn’t take away from the story. It kind of enhances it a little bit. It shows everyone’s naivety. Even the adults are naïve.
The twist. The twist was good. And the ending. I hated the ending. But it was also so good and perfect.
