Book: Cast Off by Enola M. Douglas

When I say I devoured this book…I mean I finished it in a little over 12 hours, which is impressive because this clocks in at almost 780 pages. The world of Cast Off is lush and Enola M. Douglas has such a way with words that just kept me utterly enchanted and wanting to continue reading about Alexander and JingYi. I absolutely adored their story and I know a big part of it was recognizing the more Asian influences that happened in this story. At the same time, there were also cameos from characters in the first book, Whisked Away, and seeing them was a delight. Despite being a slow-burn, Cast Away is still action packed even though it is in a more subtle way. The feelings and relationships between the cast of characters run deep and steady as they come to terms and reconcile their individual pasts and combined futures. It has been a while since I have been in so much awe of a story and this one is definitely God tier for me.
