I am officially a mess. I finished this book in one day and I’m still not over it. Annabelle McCormack has crafted a world that feels both brutal and beautiful.
Serene and Rykr’s journey starts with a life debt in the shadows of the Dreadwood and evolves into a soul-binding oath that neither was prepared for. The tension between them is so palpable it practically leaps off the page.
It’s a story about trust, uncovering buried truths, the importance of honor, and the lengths we go to for the people we love. Between the high-octane action and the slow-burn romance that finally hits like a freight train, this is easily a top read of the year.
I have so many questions after that ending! I will be impatiently waiting for book two.
