Callous Shot is the second book in the Cranham Kings series. It centers on Dan and Link. They are hockey players who compete against each other on the ice. They remain enemies beyond the ice because their families are in conflict.
This book was so engaging that I kept wanting to read more and couldn't get enough of it. The relationship between Dan and Link was complicated because it was toxic, but at the same time, it had a weird kind of sweetness to it. I liked that their "romantic" moments were quite toxic, as they were so obsessed and delusional, believing they hated each other. Dan had such a funny personality and revealed himself to be a true sweetheart. Link's backstory was really heartbreaking. His parents were absolutely terrible.
I really enjoyed reading this. The story contained plenty of action, mystery, and spiciness throughout. I really liked the main characters and the secondary characters. I could not stop reading the story. If you're a fan of enemies-to-lovers MM books, this one is perfect for you.
