I picked this up because everyone kept saying the audiobook was amazing, and oh my goodness, they were right. Even from the trigger warnings at the beginning I was already laughing. Joe Arden and Lucy Rivers were phenomenal. Their chemistry and the way their voices played off each other made the whole thing come alive.
The book itself took me totally by surprise in the best way. It was sharp, hilarious, and dark in such a clever way. The banter, the chemistry, the red-flag romance that somehow works? I was hooked. And then that ending… my heart was pounding, ripped out, and I kept thinking, “surely she’ll figure it out.” She did, they got their happily ever after, and now I have to keep going because his brother’s storyline is clearly setting up the next book.
Absolutely loved it. Six stars. One of those rare reads that catches you off guard in the best way!
