Rook has spent years planning revenge against the man who destroyed his life, and Regan is supposed to be nothing more than a means to an end. But what starts as stalking and bad intentions turns messy fast, as attraction, obsession, and real feelings blur the line between payback and something dangerously close to love.
Caught between loyalty, revenge, and a man she knows she shouldn’t want, Regan has to decide how much she’s willing to risk when loving him could cost her everything.
Rook is the morally black hero I’ve been dreaming of—fully willing to burn down the world for his girl, while somehow still being soft with her and only her. The fact that he’s tattooed, masked, and rides a motorcycle? I mean. Obviously.
I also loved that Regan turned out to be far stronger than the story initially lets on. It would have been easy to push her into damsel-in-distress territory, but thankfully the book didn’t go there. By the end, I fully believed she could run with Rook and his crew—and choose that life on her own terms.
And yes, I am absolutely interested in getting to know more of the crew. There is definitely something brewing between Aiden and Evie, Rook’s sister. Their antagonistic energy has potential, and I’m very curious to see how Rook would react if that ever turned into something more.
