Bride of Stone is a delight. The story opens with immediate political intrigue and high stakes. Estegonde Averre is a fierce and seemingly powerless princess who is arranged to marry a nobleman at the behest of her conniving brother. However, she is no stranger to surviving at court and does not trust anyone easily especially with all the training she has been through. That changes when she meets Errik Eirikson, the bodyguard who is charged with escorting her to her husband-to-be. Gon may be cautious but Errik pays attention and he is the one who notices things about her. Every scene between Gon and Errik had me giddy and giggling! This is a fantastic novella and I wish it were longer!
Thank you so much to Lisette Marshall and Behind the Pages PA for the gifted ARC! All opinions are my own.
