Absolutely breathtaking!!
From the very first pages, I knew this book was going to be a wild ride. If you’re looking for a true enemies-to-lovers that actually lives up to the name, this is it. The tension? The obsession? I’m unwell.
Sylaira is exactly the kind of FMC I live for - sassy, defiant, and so strong. Watching her run from her fate as a Seer while the Issearath is hunting her down… I felt every single second of it. And then there’s Vaeron. He’s the Issearath! A terrifying, grumpy, lethal warrior, but underneath it all? He just wants someone to choose him. The way he falls first and becomes undone for his “little fugitive” had me screaming.
The world-building is incredible. I’m obsessed with the magic system. Angels having two powers; a primary light power and then a secondary power that almost defines them and their path in life is so unique. Throw in the political intrigue, fated mates, the angels vs. demons vibes, and a "burn the world for her" energy that is 10/10… it just worked.
But that ending? It wrecked me. The betrayal and the heartbreak felt so earned. Oh, how I wasn’t prepared for my heart to be broken into a million pieces.
