This book really snuck up on me! I went in totally blind after finding it on Instagram, and even though it took a little while to settle into the world, once it clicked i FLEW through it. Urban fantasy is sometimes harder for me to get into (I just really struggle with magic and cell phones in the same setting lol), but I really came to love this story. It was fast paced, emotional, spicy in the right moments, and really addictive once I settled into the world. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 from me!

The who-done-it element kept the pace moving, and I loved the tension that came from the FMC basically living her alternate-dimension life while desperately trying not to spark matches with her mates here and get back to her actual mates she lost there. Not being able to touch anyone skin-to-skin was such a clever and creative way to make every interaction feel a little more charged and dangerous, and THAT scene with Cole? HOT. Hot hot hot.

I also really loved the FMC on her own. She's easy to root for and emotional without becoming frustrating, and she was able to move the story along well. There were moments where I struggled to understand the world a bit, but it definitely all came together by the end of the book (and again, I think some of that is my personal struggle with urban fantasies in general, not an issue with this book).

The ending was so fun - I figured she would wind up touching one of them eventually, but I loved her sacrifice to save him. It gave real stakes and felt very believable. I didn't realize that sparking with one mate meant sparking with all of them, so that became a really fun twist ending for me! I will absolutely be reading the next book to see what happens with this group next.
