This book captured my interest immediately. This book introduces us to 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐡 and Maddox. Micah, a tattoo artist, believes he's cursed since everyone he's dated has met the love of their life. Maddox is a home attendant who escaped a terrible abusive relationship. Micah and Maddox meet after Maddox responds to an animal sitter ad Micah posted online. Throughout, they confront challenges stemming from their personal traumas and Maddox's ex.
Micah had such a kind heart. I really enjoyed his quirky character. Every phrase he used as a substitute for cursing was hilarious. His interactions with his skunk Princess Cupcake Sprinkles were enjoyable to me. He was extremely patient when dealing with Maddox. It shattered my heart when he believed no one would love him. The trauma Maddox experienced was truly heartbreaking. He needed to maintain his barriers to shield himself. I'm really happy he could trust Micah and fall in love. Since it's in the Silent Hollow universe, you'll catch some familiar faces from those books.
I loved this book. So many parts had me cracking up. Those characters were so fantastic that they made me feel emotionally connected. The book depicted the traumas Maddox and Micah experienced in a way that felt very authentic. I really enjoyed seeing the characters from the other Silent Hollow series. Those epilogues were hilarious!
This one will be perfect for those who love the Silent Hollow series.
