Adrian, captain of the same hockey team Sonya’s brother plays for, is charming, cocky, and every inch the ladies’ man—aka the exact opposite of Sonya’s type (not that she’s looking 👀). But as he helps her find her footing again, Sonya realizes there’s much more to him. He’s the kind of man who’ll dance like an idiot just to make you laugh and hold you through a panic attack—the kind of genuinely good guy that’s impossible not to fall for.
Will Sonya be able to resist Adrian’s charms, or will she lower her defenses long enough to let herself love him?
When someone says “slow burn,” this is exactly what they mean. Sonya and Adrian take their time, building a connection that runs deep before their first kiss ever happens. And when the heat does turn up? Let’s just say it’s worth the wait.
Sonya is basically Wednesday Addams in a tutu—snarky, guarded, and dressed in black (relatable). Beneath her standoffishness lies a fiercely loyal heart, especially in her relationships with her foster brother, Quinn, and best friend, Kavi. Those relationships added such emotional depth and tenderness to her character.
And my adorable golden retriever, Adrian. His easy charm hides anxiety, leadership pressure, and past trauma that make him beautifully complex. Most importantly, he took the time to gently break down Sonya's hard-earned walls. He approached things at her speed and gave her space where needed. That's a real man.
