This story stole my heart. I found the worldbuilding really interesting, the characters were complex and intriguing, and the plot was full of drama! Both MCs were 30+ with traumatic experiences and difficult pasts. They were trying to survive this complicated, grim world, and it wasn't easy to trust or love others. But they should do more than just survive...
I loved their interactions from the first moment they met, and it was funny to read his light, cheeky words and her dark, gloomy thoughts.
Though there were a few things I would've loved to know more about, like the whole magic system and its relation to the Gods & Goddesses, or the reason why all the races were at war with each other.
The whole "Elves vs Humans" is always fascinating to read, not to mention the existence of Demi-Elves and the battles between all the different Elves.
I know this is a series, so I'm hoping to read more about the rest of the Team in the next book!
