Bubbles in Summer is a wonderful story that teaches young children about being kind and including everyone in all the activities no matter what battle they face.
This picture book has bright, vibrant attention maintaining colors and illustrations, along with lyrical rhyming that little ones will enjoy. It mentions most of the activities of summer that is enjoyed by all. At the end, there are 2 different I-Spy activities that can be done after reading the story. This book includes 3 different words and the entire alphabet that can be learned in American Sign Language as Bubble girl has a new friend who uses it. At the very end, the author discusses Bubble girl’s uniqueness and how she is included in everyday life.
I really enjoyed this book and the teaching moments that are incorporated into it. Everyone deserves love, kindness, and being included no matter if they have any disabilities or not. A perfect book to read during story time or bedtime. Definitely recommend reading and adding it to your little one’s bookshelf.
