Life Out Loud takes us back before the events of Life in the Quiet and gives us Digger and Deitrich’s story. It had Mafia drama, action, grief, emotional moments, and humor mixed into all the chaos. I loved how all of it came together.
Auntie Digger was already one of my favorite characters, so I was really looking forward to getting more of her. I also really enjoyed the Robin Hood vigilante vibes mixed into all the Mafia drama. I was glad we got to see that side of her too.
Digger and Deitrich were so much fun together. Their arguments, the way they challenged each other, and the tension between them made their scenes some of my favorites. Their story had a little bit of enemies to lovers and pen pals mixed in too, and I really liked that for them.
I also liked getting more background on Sonny, EJ, Darrow, Adam, Annette, and the rest of the family. It made Digger and Deitrich’s relationship feel even more connected to the people we already cared about. This book was emotional, intense, and sometimes completely wild, and I loved seeing Digger and Deitrich get their happy ending.
