Book: Her Rabid Beasts by E.P. Bali

Reviewed by Booksbystarlightandshadows

I am so invested in this series and the it continues to be one of my favourite full cast productions. Aurelia's dad is still on the prowl and lurking ready to strike. I found myself a little frustrated that Lia kept so much to herself still despite her friends showing how loyal they were. The conflict with Minnie was one I didn't see coming though and made for some good twists and turns outside the mates plotline. There is still a great balance of humour in amongst the angst and I did get a bit teary over the Blue Fairy.

This is almost a five star but the only thing stopping it for me was the pacing; I like a bit of slow burn in why choose to allow the relationships to develop at their own speed but I was ready for things to kick up a gear. This is largely Lyle's book but I'd have liked to have seen more of Scythe and Xander especially as I feel I know the least about him. Savage is still the absolute one with everyone else playing catch up (I will be devastated if he is the last to mate Lia); I adore that character and Ryan Lee Dunlap has now stolen the title of favourite narrator from Sean Masters (I think he'll steal it back in Scythe's book though). All signs are pointing to Lia having to take matters into her own hands in the next book as the odds begin to stack against her and I can't wait.

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
