Thank you so much to the authors for the ALC/ARC. I am so grateful for the chance to listen to this amazing cast while reading along.
I love a bit of forced proximity and this book has it in spades. Lucifer has well and truly won me over and is inching his way to a three way tie with Sin and Grim for favourite mate. This is partially down to what we learn about his character in "Grim" but also Christian Fox's performance. The comedy timing Fox is on point and he balances the absolute certainty Lucifer has in himself and his plan with flashes of vulnerability as he starts to fall under Merri's spell. Lucifer is giving Sin a run for his money in the most charming mate stakes for sure. I'd have folded at the first bite of those cookies even if they were "laced with lies".
This series has been one of my favourite productions and the casting is perfect for each character, many of whom are pulling double duty due to the large roster. This is a multi crossover series and having only read a few books across the previous Mate Games I was getting a little lost as to who was who, but I 100% need more Remy in my life.
This is so hard to speak about while remaining spoiler free but there are some developments put in motion which I hope are going to lead to another twist in the final book. I was thrilled at the change in certain dynamics but with only one book left I'm dying to see how this is all going to resolve itself after those last few chapters!
My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
