This book surprised me as the majority of the reveals happen at the beginning including Beckett finding out about Liam and exactly who and how they were kept apart. This is pretty low angst though; even the showdown with the person who betrayed both of them is pretty swift and the person is off page for most of the book.
I struggled a little with Emily's reluctance to give Beckett another a chance as he hadn't done anything wrong. I understand Emily was hurt but at times it came across as a bit one sided as she kept mentioning Beckett never coming back to see her and believing so little in her but then she did the exact same thing with him. That being said there are so many sweet moments I loved; the bee, Liam and Beckett bonding and Kayla gets a mention as being the best enabler I have come across in a while!
I enjoyed Kiri Savage's narration of Emily; she had a really unique husky tone and her accent was spot on. Sean Masters' is one of my favourites and although it took me a second to get used to his english accent I was here for his take on the greenest of green flags, Beckett, and his Liam performance was very cute.
My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
