This audiobook was SUCH a fantastic listen. The narrators, Sean Masters and M.K. Blackwood, brought this story to life in such a brilliant way I didn't even realize the time had passed.
The story is so good I can't wait to dig into the rest of the books to see where the plot leads.
In this first outing at The Corrupt Carnival we meet Evolet, a young woman who has been kept captive by a mad witch who is planning on sacrificing her to expand his powers and Eryx, a demon who is a main attraction at the Carnival who vows to protect her.
The action, the tension, the relationship that grows between Evolet and Eryx as he coaxes her out of her shell and helps her see that SHE is the one with the power? All delicious.
And to have it pumped into my ears by Master and Blackwood? A true treat. While the other books are not yet available in audio, I plan on reading the rest of the series to see where these story lines go and hope that someday I can enjoy the rest of this in my earholes! Because ... Eryx is meant to be listened to. Purrr!
