The metaphors and descriptions in this book are SO immersive! Amelia created a devastatingly beautiful world where pain is around every corner and love is a weakness capable of shattering souls. The atmosphere, the grit, the emotional weight - I was completely pulled in!
Aric, the man of few words but HUGE emotions, was written so beautifully. His unapologetic possessiveness paired with Ayanna's equally unapologetic stubbornness gave me all the tension I wanted. The touch her and 💀 energy? Delicious. These two were written to clash, burn, and somehow find something worth fighting for in the middle of all that pain.
There was something so beautiful about watching these characters navigate a world where loving someone could be your greatest weakness. Aric and Ayanna were messy, stubborn, intense, and completely compelling.
