This was a last minute addition to my monthly TBR, and I do not regret it!
First, the writing. Clear, vibrant, well paced and the dark humour was fantastic! This book had me giggling from the first page to the last.
Second, story line. I love the vigilante serial killer stories, I especially love how Sara explains the reasoning behind it all, I’m such a sucker for traumatic backgrounds, it sings to my soul! The lead up to the ending was so well thought out, I was literally on the edge of my seat!
Third, the characters. Rue is one bad a FMC, and Hugo was absolutely hilarious until you find out what he does in the night. The development of their relationship was so well written, from the kinda weird neighbour dynamic, to the Gomez and Morticia meet ups, and then the mess that threatens to up end it all! Not to mention the spicey bits - WOW! The supporting characters were just as fantastic. Fi as Rue’s planner and back up, Pell as the fixer who already had an eye on Rue’s and Hugo’s budding relationship, and then Quinn the chemist with her stickler personality and feud with Pell. It all came together amazingly, and I loved all of it!
