Book: Shield of Grace by Kathleen Williams

Morally grey FMC, reluctant bodyguard, and deadly prophecies? Say no more. I'm in! πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ

And that pitch… "She was so desperate to live, she'd crawl to the roots of death itself." 🫣 I was immediately intrigued!

I absolutely loved Shiv and her story. Her determination to survive, sharp wit, and sassy attitude had me wanting to see more of her. She's clever, resourceful, and definitely not afraid to do what she needs to survive.

Then there's Rory. A grumpy, protective man (reminds me of a cat) who just can't seem to catch a break. πŸ˜‚ I loved watching these two develop, not just as individuals but also as companions who slowly learn to trust and rely on each other. Shiv is the brains, Rory is the muscle, and together they're such a fun duo!

And the banter! Especially the "Barman" moments. πŸ˜‚ I loved their interactions and the way their dynamic developed throughout the story.

The side characters were also a highlight. They're all so likeable and interesting in their own right. I really enjoyed the world-building, and the storyline kept me invested in what would happen next.

BUT THAT TWIST AT THE END?! 😱 I genuinely did not see that coming! I love when a book manages to catch me completely off guard.

Overall, such an enjoyable read! I loved the characters, the dynamic between Shiv and Rory, and the mix of prophecies, danger, and adventure.
